First Impressions

It’s a joy and pleasure to greet you at New Song. Stan & I are settling into newly married life. We live in Loomis, my hometown, with my two sons, Matthew & Benjamin, just 3 miles from Grandpa & Grandma. I have enjoyed 10 years working as an insurance agent for USAA. Stan comes from Stockton with a background in automotive repair but now loves supervising a small warehouse in Roseville. Although we come from different backgrounds (I was raised in the church, Stan was not), we are very much in love with Jesus and excited to serve Him by serving you.

Prayer Coordinator
Prayer Co-ordinator is a key position for any church, especially a new church. My wife, Teri, and I are committed to seeking God’s face for New Song as well as leading and unifying our people to do the same. We believe firmly in the power of prayer from our own lives. Married for nearly two decades (second marriages for both of us and each of us bringing our own children to this marriage), we have been blessed with a union of shared values, goals, interests and commitment to each other. Bringing the two of us together and then blending our two families has truly been an answer to prayer, make that many prayers. We served for many years in a large church choir, but this is a new area of service for us. We look forward to stretching and growing in it as God leads.

Mary and I have been married for 16 years and have 7 children and 16 grandchildren between us. Family keeps us busy and fills our lives with tears and joy. For some years, I have been involved in Men’s Minstry and with Gideon’s International. It is that desire to reach our community that I now bring as New Song’s Evangelism and Follow Up Coordinator. It is a heart that is shared by my wife Mary who has been involved in both children’s and women’s ministries, including being incharge of crafts and design. She is now working with Betty Hartley as Co-coordinator of our Women’s Ministry.

Discipleship Facilitator
My sincere desire is to follow Jesus’ example in making disciples and to facilitate spiritual transformation in peoples’ lives. As the early Christians turned the world “right side up” by following Christ’s example, Christian leaders throughout history have adapted these same principals to bring revival to their own times. Through years of study (BA, Missions – 1971; Master’s, Christian Ministry – 1993; and Doctorate, Education – 2007) and personal experience (over four decades as an ordained minister and nearly two decades in my current position as VP of Academic Services at Trinity LIfe Bible College), I have discovered these key concepts and adapted them for use at New Song for adult discipleship training. I am deeply committed to this new opportunity to share in ministry at New Song. My wife and I have been in ministry since we were married in 1969. We have pastored established churches, Home Mission churches, and started new churches.

Dal Phillips

Dallas & Judy Phillips come to New Song with a varied background of engagements in church and parachurch leadership experience. Both have a passion to share and engage others in the magnificent love of our Lord – that they may experience the joy of knowing, loving and praising Him and finally, effectively serving Him.
Dal’s secular engagements have included corporate America and business development and ownership. His “church” activities have included management of departments. His work has been in the local church as well as district level and parachurch organizations. Dal has a desire to see New Song engaged in event-evangelism that is God-inspired, well-organized and outrageously successful.

I have been involved in ministry for over 35 years.I have served in the jail, altar, youth, men’s, music, and prayer ministries as well as home missions. In 1994 my wife, Donna, and I moved to Sacramento where we immediately became involved with Trinity Life Center. After joining the choir, I started attending Trinity Life Bible College and worked in the music department as an associate to the music pastor, Lane Olson. Three years later, I was trained as a Chaplain through the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy - Sacramento. After training, I was recruited to be the Chief Fire Chaplain for the Sacramento Area Fire Chaplaincy. I am Critical Incident Stress Management trained and can facilitate debriefings, defusing and one-on-one sessions. I am a Certified Grief Counselor with the Grief Recovery Institute in Southern California and am certified to do 12-week group sessions with those who need help. I have operated the Sacramento Area Fire Chaplaincy for the past 10 years, recruiting and training fire personnel to do the work of Chaplains as volunteers.

We are very excited to be asked to lead the Altar Workers Team at New Song! We serve a living, loving GOD who is passionate about His children! It is such a privilege to meet His people in prayer and agree with them for God’s blessing, His miracles, signs and wonders! Mark 16:17&18 says, “These signs WILL follow those who believe; In MY name they will cast out demons; they WILL speak with new tongues; they WILL take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they WILL lay hands on the sick and they WILL recover”! The altar is a place of awe and wonder where God pours out the expression of His heart to His people, through His people. We are dedicated to investing our lives in building the Kingdom of GOD on earth!

Married nearly 35 years, Cathy and I have two children, Jim V and Jennifer, and two grandsons, Cooper and Aidan. For 28 of those years we attended an Assembly of God church. I served there as a deacon and we were both involved with media, drama, youth and children’s ministries, as well as the Adult choir and many musical productions. Cathy also sang with the Worship Team. I was fortunate to be able to combine some of my lifelong hobbies (photography, music and video) as I videotaped and took still photos of Youth Choir Tours and many other events that took place at church. Cathy & I feel that an efficient media department is a necessity for any church. Our goal is to give our best and do our very best in the service for our Lord Jesus. We just want everyone to know Him as we know Him as our Lord, Friend and Savior. We love and enjoy people, and intend to serve the community through our involvement with New Song Community Church.

Creative Consultant
As Creator of the universe, Author of all creativity, God has called us to excellence. I try to give Him my talents as an offering to honor Him. I believe strongly that relevant graphics and clear words help make Christ more accessible and the Christian walk more easily understood. That is why I want to bring my decades of experience as a graphic designer and teacher to enhance New Song's message to our congregation and community.
